Oda Nobunaga (1534 ~ 1582)  extremely clever use of tactics outwitted his opponents on and off the battlefield.  Even when outnumbered nearly 10 to 1 in the Battle of Okehazama, Oda’s forces were still victorious thanks to his use of misdirection, surprise attacks and efficient firearms use.  Off the battlefield, Oda was known for being extremely ruthless and brutal.  Oda burned Buddhist temples and slaughtered thousands of Buddhist men, women, and children for their beliefs.  His outspoken greed, devilish ambitions, and successful battlefield record, lead many to believe that Oda was, in fact, a demonic figure that made a deal with the devil in exchange for dominance over Japan.
